Fire Risk Assessments
Fire Safety Management
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 has replaced all previous fire safety legislation. The responsibility of ensuring adequate fire safety for all workplaces big and small has now been placed firmly on the shoulders of the “responsible person” for the premises.
The new Fire Safety Act 2021 further amends the RRO adding further emphasis to fire safety in flats, small commercial premises including holiday lets.
If your holiday let does not have a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment you may find yourself in an embarrassing situation with both the fire service and your insurance company.
Don’t take the risk of prosecution or losing your cherished business in the event of an incident occurring.
A suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment will include evaluating your current fire detection and warning system, means of escape, internal structural fire protection, testing and maintenance regimes of equipment and systems and the identification of the training needs of your staff.
These previous points and others all add up to the creation of a robust Fire Safety Management System that will ensure that your premises is safe for the occupants and help ensure your business continuity. An organisation may receive a visit following a complaint, a fire incident or for no reason other than that the enforcing authority may be actively inspecting premises in your area. Inspections are carried out across the board, not just large or high risk premises. Anglia Fire Assessments will make recommendations to ensure that your workplace complies with the law and will satisfy any inspection process. We will evaluate your current fire safety management system through a fresh pair of eyes and will apply our extensive professional knowledge to enhance your fire safety provisions.
Anglia Fire Assessments will carry out a detailed premises audit and produce a comprehensive yet easy to understand report derived from:PAS 79 2012: Fire risk assessment – Guidance and a recommended methodology.
Our findings and recommendations will be explained to you in full. We will also provide on going support to assist you in developing your fire safety management system.
We can provide a Fire Log Book and produce an Emergency Action Plan which the enforcing authorities will inspect when they visit your premises. When we undertake an audit we will not try and sell you any equipment that we identify that you might need. We are independent consultants and therefore will give you a non biased report.
The only other service that we can provide for you in relation to the fire safety audit is staff fire training.
We assure you that we will always provide a very competitive and cost sensitive solution to meet your individual fire safety needs.
Fees
Fees start from as little as £200+VAT. Please contact us to discuss your individual fire safety requirements and we will be pleased to offer you a free no obligation quotation. You can undertake your own in-house fire risk assessment, however our experience has shown to us that unless you have the experience and training you will not notice the more important aspects of fire safety that are prevalent in your workplace.
There is a consultation process in being that is looking at the competency of fire risk assessors as many occurrences have happened that have identified the problems of inexperienced persons undertaking such risk critical assessments.
We have unfortunately been called into review a fire risk assessment after the premises had suffered a fire and the fire and rescue service were undertaking an investigation into the quality of the initial report.
A fire risk assessor and hotel owner in Mansfield Notts. were jailed for failing to undertake a suitable and sufficient risk assessment of two premises.
Prevention is the best form of firefighting so why not let Anglia Fire Assessments undertake your assessment or review your existing one to ensure that both your company and everyone that uses your premises are as safe from fire as we can make them.
Too many small to medium size businesses stop trading due to a fire that could so easily have been prevented.
Qualified fire risk assessors are the first step in your fire safety management system, do not leave it to chance.
All our assessors are Members of the Institute of Fire Engineers (MIFireE) and have served as Fire Safety Inspecting Officers for the fire and rescue service, accept nothing less.
Some fire extinguisher companies use their existing servicing staff to undertake fire risk assessments.
As they say “you get what you pay for”. The cost to rebuild a business is exponentially far more than to protect it properly in the first place.
